We flew back to Rome and had about 36 hours to kill just wandering, shopping and eating. Truth be told it was starting to get super hot and the crowds had gone insane and the losing of my shit (and patience) had begun.
And I have to say our legs were now really really ‘fucque this shit’ tired. We have walked and walked and walked on this trip and it would seem husband’s age is catching up with him. I’m not old, so I must just be coming down with something. We all knew this day would come and now it’s barstard well here. I can’t shitting do this anymore – DONE!!!!
Today another life long dream was to be fulfilled and it’s so bloody exciting you guys. This delightful Disney Princess was finally going home to her castle. What, you didn’t know I was a princess and that I had a castle? Oh you poor misinformed souls. Of course I do, obvs…. Pfffttttt. Read on….
So up bright and early again to get ready for tour number 2,783 of this holiday and husband decides he’s had enough. He’s out….he can’t even….he can’t be arsed…..all chill has been lost. He’s tapping out my friends.
Now I don’t want to get all emo on you but I was pretty excited about today. Salzburg, more particularly The Sound of Music, played a big part in my childhood. I loved that movie and like most Aussie kids I knew all of the words to every song and of course I loved Maria, thought Gretl was the cutest thing ever, felt sad when the Baron ignored the kids, hated that slapper The Baronness for trying to sabotage the love of the century and I know you already know this – I so wanted to be Liesl… (except the bit where she falls in love with a total asshat who almost gets her family caught. Talk about a dobber).
So you can imagine how important the SOM parts of my visit to Salzburg were to me. In the early trip planning stages I found the tour company I wanted to use for this day because all of the reviews were ~glowing~ about the Sound of Music experience with this tour guide… *yes we know you like good tour guides Lisa, shut up already…*
Hello, we are The Kellys – a travel loving Australian couple. Our blog is filled with silly travel stories and so much sarcasm…..oh and lots of pretty pictures! We are “almost” empty nesters who are spending our kids inheritance one travel adventure (and bottle of champagne) at a time. We love history, exploring new places and meeting people……but mostly we are just eating and drinking our way around the world. Come in and have a laugh xx
